    Winchester is a small town in VA, has a beautiful downtown pedestrian main street.  In that beautiful street I discovered this small and family owned restaurant.

    Simple menu with very typical German plates. For me this place was a time travel experience that I will repeat.

    Reminds me of the Schnell Imbiss (fast food) places I frequented while I was stationed in Germany.

    Not a big menu, but everything on it is authentic German cuisine. Everything is prepared by one woman who wanted to bring the food she loved in Germany over here.

    They have the usual German fare of schnitzel and bratwurst with spaetzle on the side, which was all delicious.

    My favorite was the Currywurst, which is bratwurst smothered in a curry-ketchup sauce (German Ketchup being a tad sweeter than American) and mixed with other spices. It was a favorite back in Germany and a bit hard to find here.

    If you are ever in the Winchester walking mall, do yourself a favor and drop in. You'll be glad you did.

    We had several different kinds of sausages. All were flavorful and high quality. Each was served in a small roll just like you would get at a German Imbiss. They had different kinds of mustard. The side dishes were good.

    Great little German spot.  Food and service top notch. Great value. Staff super friendly and work very hard to make everything perfect.

    My mom and I decided to try this place while we were in Winchester yesterday, and we are so glad we did. We tried the sampler, which came with Schnitzel, Bratwurst, and 2 sides. We chose potato salad and sauerkraut as our sides and they were both really good. Everything was so fresh and delicious, so we will definitely be coming back more often.

    The staff was friendly and the owner came over and talked to us, which was a nice touch. You can tell they care about what they are serving and want to do well. I would definitely recommend trying this place.
